Spanish Module 1 - Beginner
The beginning Module 1 program is perfect for learners who may know some Spanish vocabulary but might not know how to put sentences together correctly. Therefore, we will work with them to develop communication skills using basic vocabulary. By the end of the program, they will be able to have basic dialogues about:
- Basic introductions
- Common phrases
- Directions to places
- Identifying and differentiating words and simple phrases
- Reading short stories and/or children's books
Spanish Module 2 - Elementary
The beginning Module 2 is perfect for learners who can understand sentences and speak commonly used expressions. We will introduce grammar concepts such as pronouns, common verbs in the present tense, articles, nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. This is where you will expand your vocabulary to hold a conversation. By the end of this module, you will be able to listen to, read, and understand topics about:
- Travel, shopping, friends, and family
- Different forms of the present tense
- Simple ads, restaurants, and transportation
- Employment and geography
- Routine tasks with basic expressions
Intermediate
These sessions introduce past tenses such as the pretérito perfecto and pretérito indefinido, allowing learners to describe completed actions in the past, as well as ongoing or habitual actions that occurred in the past. Students also begin to explore the contrast between commonly used past tenses in Spanish:
- Pretérito Indefinido (simple past):
- Pretérito Imperfecto (imperfect past):
- Pretérito Perfecto (present perfect):
Upper Intermediate
The intermediate Spanish sessions are ideal for students who can communicate comfortably on familiar topics, express opinions, and understand more complex sentences and texts. Students should already know more than just basic vocabulary and phrases, as these sessions focus on developing more natural and fluent conversation using past tenses.
In these sessions, students will learn a new grammar topic—el subjuntivo—to help them better understand native speakers, describe experiences and events, and express opinions and future plans.
Advanced to Proficient
The advanced and fluent sessions are ideal for learners who want to refine their Spanish, master complex grammar, expand their vocabulary, and learn idiomatic expressions. Our curriculum is filled with fun, interactive, and engaging activities that help reinforce reading comprehension, vocabulary expansion, and writing composition. Students will participate in cultural and academic discussions to enhance their ability to engage in conversations with native speakers. However, it is highly recommended that students practice for at least 15 minutes a day to retain class material and accelerate their Spanish fluency.
